Brady Doak

Brady is a long standing professional staff member at University of Auckland’s Leigh Marine Laboratory. His role since 1985, has evolved from field technician supporting marine research to overseeing diving operations, student and staff training for use of sub 6 meter research craft under Maritime NZ part 35, responsibility for these surveyed vessels along with that of master of the larger 15m coastal research vessel Hawere.

Alongside this occupation, his lifelong interest in marine environments has seen development of skills as an underwater camera person and inclusion in documentary film making expeditionary teams for NHNZ, NHK, BBC and CBC, These trips have provided experience in a diversity of marine habitats throughout the South pacific, NZ sub Antarctic islands, Antarctica, and Zanzibar (Tanzania).
