In May 2011 a team headed by Tom Trnski, Head of Research at Auckland Museum journeyed to the Kermadec Islands to discover what New Zealand’s last remaining unfished area was hiding above and below sea level. The expedition was a collaborative project and the team included researchers from Auckland Museum, Te Papa, Department of Conservation, NIWA and Australian Museum.
Come along to hear Tom Trnski and Peter J. de Lange, Plant Specialist from the Department of Conservation talk about their successes, share photos of their experiences and relay stories about a trip of a lifetime!
