A top-up from the Kermadecs

For anyone missing the Kermadecs adventure – we certainly are – we thought we would give you a little update. One of the DoC team members Warren Chinn has written about his experience and lasting impressions of the Kermadec expedition which you can read about here:

http://blog.doc.govt.nz/2011/06/07/lasting-impressions-of-the-kermadec-islands/

His colleague Peter de Lange is working hard identifying specimens and will have an update on his early findings next week – like the fish team it looks like there are some definite new finds for both the Kermadecs and for New Zealand.

And some great news for anyone who keenly followed the blog – Auckland Museum is currently organising some public talks over the next month so you can come in and hear about the expedition and findings straight from Tom. More details to follow next week.

Finally Malcolm and Richie are working through all the incredible images they took while they were in the Kermadecs – here are just a handful that we’ve seen come through.
