Islands passing in the night

Cheeseman Island – the Braveheart has passed Cheeseman (and Curtis and Macauley) Island and is heading for Raoul

Report from the Braveheart last thing Wednesday evening: We passed Curtis and Cheeseman islands just on dusk – big impressive hulks they were, too. Very steep sided. And about an hour ago I was sitting on the back deck and could see the long dark shape of Macauley Island sliding past in the blackness.

We are now on a beeline for Raoul, and when we wake up in the morning we hope to be at anchor in Ship’s Cove, on the lee side of the island, tucked out of the wind. Then the plan for Thursday is to dive – everyone’s keen to get in the water and get the work started. To get ready for the day ahead I think everyone except me and the crew has gone to bed already.

Will be in touch with news of the first dive!
