Preparations are underway

Dive tanks in the Museum dockway

Dive tanks, nets, hooks, a glass photo table, sinkers, ethanol concoctions and a stack of large containers were all squeezed into Auckland Museum’s van today in preparation for the expedition.

With the van at full capacity it was a very slow trip to Tauranga where we (me and technician Ged Wiren) then unloaded it into a warehouse ready to be transferred to the Braveheart before Monday.

Will it all fit?

Apart from bringing home the reality of the trip – it is nearly time to leave! – it also gave us another chance to look around the Braveheart. The cabins aren’t too roomy but it is a great ship and perfect for what we need to achieve. Here’s where we’ll be spending the next three weeks at sea. Is this what you expected?
